Note that passengers travelling to the Dominican Republic are required to fill out a government-mandated entry form before departure from Canada. QR code proof of completion will be required at the airport. Access and complete the relevant form below before checking in for your departure flight:

The Dominican Republic is a popular tourist destination, known for its beautiful beaches, warm weather, and friendly people. Here are some tourism information and tips for travelling to the Dominican Republic:

Spanish is the official language of the Dominican Republic, but many people in tourist areas also speak English.
The official currency of the Dominican Republic is the Dominican peso, but US dollars are widely accepted in tourist areas. I recommend that you bring Dominican Peso DOP for tipping and purchasing purposes. Tipping in DOP $ is more attractive to people servicing you as they don't lose any value when exchanging USD $ in local currency. It also saves you on the exchange on the switch to USD $ as the DOP is usually a better rate when exchanging your CAD $.
Like any other tourist destination, it is important to take precautions and be aware of your surroundings. Avoid walking alone at night, do not leave your valuables unattended, and be cautious when using ATMs.

Lopesan Costa Bávaro Resort, Spa & Casino

The Lopesan Costa Bavaro Resort Spa & Casino is a luxury resort located on Bavaro Beach in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
